What is Sex Therapy?

Sex Therapy is a specialized type of talk therapy that can help both individuals and couples/partners identify and resolve underlying issues that may be impacting sexual drive, desire, arousal, and functioning.

Typically sessions will start by assessing and gathering information about the client(s) biological, psychological, and social histories to help conceptualize the therapeutic themes and concerns for treatment. As sessions progress, client(s) will be given homework to complete between appointments that could range from self-reflection, to communication exercises, to structured sexual activities/exercises; homework assignments will then be processed and discussed in the next session.

There will be NO physical or sexual contact between therapist or client(s) at any time.
